Cameroon - Nigeria: A cultural festival to seal reconciliation

Cameroon Tribune) The event, scheduled for December, is organised by the Assembly of Heads Ekpe, Calabar, which is preparing a visit to Yaounde.
Head Higher (Obong) from Calabar, Bassey Ekpo Bassey II is also coordinator of the Assembly of Heads Ekpe, an organization of very influential traditional power of the Cross River State, south-east Nigeria. From cultural festival announced for next December in Calabar, capital of this state, which has hosted the handover ceremony total Bakassi to Cameroon on August 14, he speaks with great passion. Because the project takes so much to heart, insofar as it is, in his opinion, an opportunity to seal reconciliation and create a better rapprochement between the peoples of Cameroon and Nigeria.

The event is being prepared with great care. It involves the participation of an American researcher, Dr. Ivor Miller, Centre of African Studies at Boston University, which is currently conducting a study on alleged links between anthropological communities Cuban, Nigerian and Cameroon. Admitted as significant to the Head Higher Calabar, the latter takes his role seriously. Thus, it runs with pleasure the website of the festival.

Especially eager to establish a real relationship of trust between Cameroon and Nigeria, His Majesty Bassey Ekpo Bassey II, supported by his team of elders, decided to undertake a visit to Yaounde and elsewhere in Cameroonian land. The practicalities of this movement are being met.
